I will start this July Fourth like I always do… with a call to my dad to thank him for his service in the military, both in wartime and in peacetime. He will be so thrilled that I remembered, that I called, that the joy and appreciation in his voice will choke me up. I will get off the phone in tears and while I dab those tears I will say a prayer of thanksgiving to all those who serve.
