What’s in a word?

COMMITMENT. TEACHER. DEEPER. BALANCE. DISCIPLINE. PATIENCE. GROUNDED. CREATE. HOPEFUL. COMMUNICATE. JUMP

These are some of the words I’ve heard people choose for their year. 

As for me, I’ve been trying to decide between two words: Create and Expansiveness.   For some tie breaking help, I checked out the dictionary (could I be any more of a word nerd?).

Definition of CREATE                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              1: to bring into existence                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        2: a. to invest with a new form, office, or rank   b. to produce or bring about by a course of action or behavior                                                                                                                                                                                         3: cause, occasion                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  4: a.  to produce through imaginative skill  b : design

And, with that, I feel called to choose Expansiveness.  What I want for and from myself in this new year is growth, engagement, energy, the ability to savor the moment I am in, and the discipline to create the life I desire.  I want expansiveness.
