Friday Reflections is all about reflecting on the week by observing our senses. My hope is that this will be a gentle, easy way to tune into how we are doing and what we are experiencing weekly when journaling in general can feel so daunting.
Now, for this week’s Friday Reflections (with each sense as your inspiration, consider how experiencing it impacted your week).
Here is my sensory round-up for this week:
tasting :: It was like a local restaurant tour of foods this week as two of my college roommates and BFFs came to town. I had everything from a berry chocolate crepe to red velvet cake ice cream (seriously so ridiculously good) and a whole lot of sliders, truffle oil fries, risotto balls, crusty bread, black beans, roasted red peppers, creamed spinach in between. Good food week. Now, I will have to get used to cooking again.
hearing :: the kind of stories that made me laugh so hard that I either spit water out my nose or almost passed out from lack of oxygen (if you haven’t been around here long, you may not know that I am a big ole’ fainter. I’ve got way low blood pressure and I am always just a blood sighting, gory story, or one laugh too many away from fainting. I know ridiculous but true). The funniest stories were the ones where two of us remembered something about the third person and the third person had no idea about what we were referencing. Seriously, my belly ached after my girls left. It could have been all the food but I am just as likely to blame it on all the laughing.
smelling :: a Sugar Blossom candle. Simple scent that makes me happy.
seeing :: best friends.
feeling :: mostly content but also a little daunted about the weeks to come as they are filled with things that need tending and places to be. I look forward to opportunities to create space.
wishing/hoping :: clarity, grace, smoothness, and the right words, thoughts, and attitude to see me through…
What about you? What were your sensational experiences this week? Please share!
