Friday Reflections is all about reflecting on the week by observing our senses. My hope is that this will be a gentle, easy way to tune into how we are doing and what we are experiencing weekly when journaling in general can feel so daunting.
Now, for this week’s Friday Reflections (with each sense as your inspiration, consider how experiencing it impacted your week).
Here is my sensory round-up for this week:
tasting :: spinach ravioli casserole, chicken pie, farro salad, cornbread salad , chicken and lettuce wraps, and a fortune cookie (check out my fortune!)
hearing :: really inspiring, thoughtful dialogue and action plans from the Circle de Luz Board of Directors as we gathered in a yurt for our annual retreat and What Would I Do Without You by Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors (oh, my heart, the gorgeousness)
smelling :: chlorine. I’ve been in a pool everyday this week and I think the smell has just adhered itself to my skin.
seeing :: Happy have a blast as we spent a full day at the local amusement park and water park and {related} all sorts of body art. My personal favorites? One guy had written up one forearm, “Dream Like You Will Live Forever” and down the other one, “Live Like You Will Die Tomorrow.” Solid advice if you ask me. And another guy had the Batman logo tattooed across his chest. Brilliant! What is the best tattoo you have ever seen out in the world?
feeling :: Really happy to have taken this week to linger every day with Happy. We had a meeting last Friday to plan Mommy camp but then just really went with the flow and while a lot of our list was accomplished, some wasn’t because when morning came and Happy was asked what he wanted to do, it always came back to the pool which was totally fine by me. Here’s to summer days unfolding however you want them to in the moment and maybe not how you planned.
wishing/hoping :: for a super productive week next week to make up for how unproductive (in terms of work) I was this week.
What about you? What were your sensational experiences this week? Please share!
