Friday Reflections is all about reflecting on the week by observing our senses. My hope is that this will be a gentle, easy way to tune into how we are doing and what we are experiencing weekly when journaling in general can feel so daunting.
Now, for this week’s Friday Reflections (with each sense as your inspiration, consider how experiencing it impacted your week).
Here is my sensory round-up for this week:
tasting :: roasted asparagus, baked potatoes, spinach ravioli casserole, fruit salad, and chicken fajitas
hearing :: (1) really thoughtful physician educators considering the soft skills they want their medical school students to learn as I partner with a medical school on designing a reflection curriculum for the 3rd year experience
(2) lots of SAT test prep tips as the Circle de Luz girls had an all day SAT test prep day to get them ready for a summer of studying for college entrance exams.
smelling :: chlorine, horse breath, and lake water because from farm time to a family fishing trip (or more accurately rock throwing adventure) I got the change to spend plenty of time outdoors this week
seeing :: really wonderful girls think about how to be good friends to themselves and others
feeling :: the choppy ripples of wake-y water on the local lake while paddle boarding on a gorgeous summer afternoon and super excited about the Passion.Purpose.Plunge retreats going virtual.
wishing/hoping :: to connect with amazing women and girls in upcoming opportunities like Healthy, Happy, Sane Teacher, a mother.daughter equine facilitated learning retreat, and Right in the Middle, a mother/daughter middle school social/emotional readiness conference. Join me !
What about you? What were your sensational experiences this week? Please share!
