You know that friend who just feels like home? I am lucky enough to have a few of those and one of those gals is Jen*, who happens to also be my favorite yoga instructor. She’s amazing as a friend and as a teacher. Every time I am with her feels like medicine.
And, so, it came as no surprise when a casual play date at the park with our boys quickly took a more serious, thoughtful, life affirming turn. As we pushed the swings for the three boys we have between us, we talked about our lives, what we need more of, what we want to offer the world, what company we want to keep, and, just like that, an idea came to us.
We loved having these conversations, and we know other women do, too. We also love the restorative nature of yoga. What if we fused our favorite practices—meaningful reflection, earnest conversation, and decadent yoga—and invited other women to join us at that intersection? And there, sweating in North Carolina’s summer heat, aware was born.
What we have put into aware is a fusion of our favorite practices. From thoughtful yoga that goes beyond the mat to thoughtful reflection that goes beyond the journal pages, aware is all about fusing head and heart in a way that gives you what you need while putting what you want in perspective.
This past fall, we launched aware over a series of Wednesday mornings, and it was incredible. We were asked to offer a Saturday version, and we are so happy to let you know that our first Saturday aware will take place on March 16th and we want you to join us!
March 16th from 9 am until 12:30 pm at Triple Play Farm in Davidson

I am a wife, mother, yoga teacher, and a student. I am married to an amazing partner Doug and we have two boys, Wil (5), Owen (3). I took a leap of faith after my older son’s birth and decided to leave my job as a fundraising professional to stay at home. Daily life with two kids is a roller coaster. I recharge on my yoga mat. On my mat, I feel reconnected to “me” – empowered and free.
In 2011, I completed my 200 hour Teacher Training with the talented team at Yoga One Wellness in Charlotte. I teach at Yoga One in Charlotte. Teaching for me is my truest, deepest, fullest expression of my heart-led calling in life. I hope to lead students in class to practice love, joy, possibility, presence and freedom so that they can connect with their most authentic self.
In addition to teaching, I serve on the Boards of Circle de Luz and Hawthorne Lane Preschool, both causes near and dear to my heart. In the moments when I’m not teaching, parenting or volunteering, you’ll find me cooking, eating, traveling, reading and watching sports. I love cured meat, watermelon and a great slice of pizza. You can catch me in the fall on Sundays watching hours upon hours of football and cheering my home state Kentucky Wildcats during basketball season. Thanks to my Dad’s influence, I’m a lover of all sports, and nothing gets me teary eyed more than an emotional victory by an underdog team. My Mom instilled a love for travel at a young age with her passion for travel and although zoos, children’s museums and trips to the beach are more my normal since having children, I dream of Hawaiian beaches, Italian gelato, the hills of Tuscany and Vermont in the summer.
During a life that has been spent figuring out how to empower myself and try every day to learn and grow, I found my mission: to empower women and girls to embrace their authentic selves so they can live their passion and purpose and give their gifts to the world. I live my mission by offering clases and workshops, through my writing, and volunteering. I am the author of Beautiful You: A Daily Guide to Radical Self Acceptance and Hijas Americanas: Beauty, Body Image, and Growing Up Latina. I also teach courses on body image at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and facilitates transformative workshops and retreats for women. I blog at www.rosiemolinary.com and regularly write for www.mamiverse.com, Lake Norman Currents, and The Charlotte Observer.
I am a former high school teacher and coach and care passionately about the empowerment of young people. I serve on the board of Circle de Luz, a non-profit that radically empowers young Latinas by supporting their transformation through extensive mentoring, holistic programming and scholarship funds for further education.
I spend the fall and winter obsessing over NFL fantasy football (and Panthers football) and my cardigan collection and the spring and summer obsessing over my garden and pleasure reading. I am a crack of dawn, fair weather runner, and I dig yoga, Pilates, surfing, and stand up paddling. I am, oddly, equal parts reverent and irreverent. I paint for pleasure, write for purpose, and parent with equal parts whimsy and panic. My favorite thing is figuring out, every day, how to get a little closer to my truth so I can better engage in my world and having a sense of wonder and humor about how it all goes down (or doesn’t).
