Friday Reflections is all about reflecting on the week by observing our senses. My hope is that this will be a gentle, easy way to tune into how we are doing and what we are experiencing weekly when journaling in general can feel so daunting.
Now, for this week’s Friday Reflections (with each sense as your inspiration, consider how experiencing it impacted your week).
Here is my sensory round-up for this week:
tasting :: Turkey Vegetable Soup. This slow cooker recipe calls for beef but I do it with turkey and still love it.
hearing :: Rain hitting the roof. It’s been raining all week so there’s lots of music.
smelling :: Horse breath. Lots of time at the farm this week including a little carrot feeding time. Horse breath just smells like hay and it makes me happy like puppy breath does.seeing :: Really awesome connections being made for Passion. Purpose. Plunge retreat clients. I really love this process– it teaches me over and over again!
feeling :: Kinda naive. Last week went so smoothly and I got to get things really in place. This week was a test to see if I could keep things in place (or not) when real life struck. Managing okay but not overachieving by any means right now.wishing/hoping :: for good health for family members in need of some healing.
What about you? What were your sensational experiences this week? Please share!
This post was inspired by Teacher Goes Back to School who was inspired by Pink of Perfection’s Five Sense Friday.
i like naive as an adjective in this instance, so much kinder than it could be. i need to add it to my vocabulary list.
smelling: the melon candle beside my bed, the smell of fresh oranges, rosemary (I made rosemary simple syrup for a cocktail)
seeing: my boys having art time together and working so patiently with each other. warms my heart.
hearing: the lumineers, “hey ho” and the repeating sound of my inner voice telling me that I am awesome and that I know everything I need to know and that faith in knowing i’m exactly where i need to be.
wishing/hoping: for good health for all my peeps in my house. i’m so over the flu bug!
Thanks for creating the space for this. I love it!
