Don’t miss LIVING OUT! Shows Wed – Sun this week at StellaCenter!
What the reviewer said:
“Nancy wants to help Ana but has to make more and more demands on her caregiver, who feels pulled apart by pressures herself. They are mirror images in a way; so are the trios of nannies and mommies who meet on park benches to discuss salaries, racial stereotypes and the foolishness/ untrustworthiness of people they work for or hire….directed with sympathy and intelligence by Anne Lambert…” Charlotte Observer, 2.20.09

‘Who cares for the kids while you make a living? When a Latin American immigrant with children of her own signs on as a nanny for a have-it-all power lawyer, both mothers must struggle to find common ground across a vast cultural divide. Acclaimed in both New York and Los Angeles, this crisply satiric but ultimately sympathetic new play offers a comic, heart-wrenching vision of the American dream, finding no easy answers to the dilemmas of parenting in frazzled times. ‘Poignant and outrageously funny.’ – The Los Angeles Times
