Friday Reflections is all about reflecting on the week by observing our senses. My hope is that this will be a gentle, easy way to tune into how we are doing and what we are experiencing weekly when journaling in general can feel so daunting.
Now, for this week’s Friday Reflections (with each sense as your inspiration, consider how experiencing it impacted your week).
Here is my sensory round-up for this week:
tasting :: eggplant parmesan, avgolemono soup, greek salad, sweet potato spaghetti, cake, sweet potato hash, sweet tea, steamed broccoli, and grilled corn.
hearing :: an amazing young talent, Caroline McLeod, perform twice (she is our closing act at our Right in the Middle conferences). Here she is singing a fun pop mash-up. Here is she singing one of her originals, Pretty Now. One of the things we talk about at Right in the Middle is how important it is to find a passion and Caroline is a powerful example of living passionately and giving her gift to the world.
smelling :: cut grass.
seeing :: My little boy in a big boy bed. We are in the midst of a room makeover for the little guy as the toddler bed was just too small for him and kid loves his big boy bedMore room projects to come. Also, lots of lovely mother/daughter duos expressing love to one another, connecting in meaningful ways, and enjoying themselves at Right in the Middle.
feeling :: wide eyed and full hearted. It’s back to school time which means lots more things on my plate with teaching and Circle de Luz and Happy’s calendar so that is the wide eyed part. As for full hearted, we are celebrating things right now, Happy’s birthday, our coming together as a family five years ago so my heart is full of gladness.
wishing/hoping :: To really embrace a healthy sense of moderation this school year.
What about you? What were your sensational experiences this week? Please share!
