Friday Reflections

Friday Reflections is all about reflecting on the week by observing our senses.  My hope is that this will be a gentle, easy way to tune into how we are doing and what we are experiencing weekly when journaling in general can feel so daunting.

Now, for this week’s Friday Reflections (with each sense as your inspiration, consider how experiencing it impacted your week).

Here is my sensory round-up for this week:

tasting ::  It has been a ridiculously good food week.  Baked falafel, sesame ginger flank steak, mashed parsnips and potatoes, black bean cakes.

hearing :: Mad mommy and Happy giggles.  We have played a few wicked games of Hide and Seek this week that have had us cackling.

smelling ::  Eucalyptus oil.  I’ve been nursing a both runny and stuffy nose alternately and Pinterest says Eucalyptus oil works.  Verdict is still out on healing properties, but it smells good.

seeing ::  An incredible office redo done with a Passion. Purpose. Plunge retreat client.  She desperately needed to go through everything in her office and get everything sorted and systematized so that her structures wouldn’t hold back her business.  Six hours in her space really changed everything!

feeling :: Big feelings. Tomorrow, we celebrate four years as a family.  Earlier this week, Happy wanted to know how exactly adoption works.  A big talk, a big anniversary.  Lots of tender feelings floating around my heart.

wishing/hoping :: for peace and a sense of hope for loved ones.

What about you?  What were your sensational experiences this week?  Please share!

tasting: vanilla and chocolate chips cookies we made together with Delight. She loves to cook and bake, and make all kind of sensory experiences – it’s such a pleasure to spend these special moments with her! And the cookies are very good. Maybe a bit too sweet… I will adapt the recipe.

hearing: all of the so sweet noises a baby can make… my heart melts like chocolate every time.

smelling: coffee. I love this smell in the morning. A daily smell that makes me happy.

seeing: how Delight tenderly looks after Enjoy, hugs and kisses her, caresses her hair… it fills the whole room with love – just so wonderful!

feeling: very tired. And deeply blessed.

wishing/hoping: to find a way that makes mornings smoother.
