Friday Reflections

Friday Reflections is all about reflecting on the week by observing our senses.  My hope is that this will be a gentle, easy way to tune into how we are doing and what we are experiencing weekly when journaling in general can feel so daunting.

Now, for this week’s Friday Reflections (with each sense as your inspiration, consider how experiencing it impacted your week).

Here is my sensory round-up for this week:

tasting ::  Peppermint.  It really might be one of my all time favorite flavors.  And with the holidays coming up, it is everywhere right now.

hearing ::  Rain on the tin roof of the barn at Triple Play Farm.  I facilitated a Passion. Purpose. Plunge retreat this week at the farm, and, while I was setting up, a gentle rain began to fall.  It was a gorgeous symphony on the rooftop.

smelling ::  Garlicky soup on the stove top.  Yum.

seeing ::  Happy “read” to himself.  Happy has a lot of books memorized and on Sunday morning, while we were getting breakfast ready, he stole away to his room, piled up a big ole’ stack of books, and read to himself.  It’s not that rare a sight but it always delights me.

feeling :: satisfied.  I really love the Passion. Purpose. Plunge retreats— doing deep, intentional work with women who are ready to move forward in some way is really meaningful and inspiring to me.  I came away from this week’s retreat with reminders, lessons, and inspirations for myself.  That’s when you know you are hitting on something good.

wishing/hoping :: for a focused week.  I have seven days to finish grading for the semester.

What about you?  What were your sensational experiences this week?  Please share!
