Friday Reflections

Friday Reflections is all about reflecting on the week by observing our senses.  My hope is that this will be a gentle, easy way to tune into how we are doing and what we are experiencing weekly when journaling in general can feel so daunting.

Now, for this week’s Friday Reflections (with each sense as your inspiration, consider how experiencing it impacted your week).

Here is my sensory round-up for this week:

tasting :: Low Country boil.  As a little goodbye to summer, BF put together a small low country boil for us.  Delish as always.

hearing ::  The Leftovers.   Tom Perrota’s latest book is now my audio accompaniment as I drive.

smelling ::  Russian Tea.  A dear friend gives me a jar of Russian Tea every Christmas and while I love it and can drink it every day, I save it for when I am sick so that I can have the ultimate comfort drink.  I’ve got a pesky sinus infection (my go-to illness) and so I am loving this tea right now.

seeing ::  my parents.  Never get enough of these two dear people.  My brother brought them up for a mid-week visit and it was delightful.

feeling :: excited and sick.  So excited about a new professional offering but so over this sinus infection.

wishing/hoping :: for lots of creative time in the coming days to just brainstorm, dream, and build.

What about you?  What were your sensational experiences this week?  Please share!

This post was inspired by Teacher Goes Back to School who was inspired by Pink of Perfection’s Five Sense Friday.

tasting : a modest handful of figs and physalis from our garden! We did not even hope to harvest some as the summer was mostly cold and rainy. They were so tasty and sweet!

hearing : Delight singing from the bottom of her heart.

smelling : Delight’s hair and skin while cuddling. So unique.

seeing : a girl riding on her bike with fairy wings on, and a large and beautiful, happy smile.

feeling : tired but happy. Delight woke up 2 hours too early today. No specific reason for my happiness, I simply feel happy.

wishing/hoping : to become a little fitter, just enough to walk outside and enjoy both the fall weather and the movement.

I went to a low country boil for the first time ever last weekend and it was AMAZING! I love the combination of fall, wine, and seafood 🙂

I do the same with a special vanilla chamomile tea I have. Because I save it for when I’m sick, it provides an amazing little moment of joy when I’m feeling crappy. Sorry you are sick, though!
