The Sunshine Project

Alright, so I spent sometime this weekend designing The Sunshine Project.  Often, I create really complex projects for myself that have 4 million steps and, let’s be honest with that many steps, is it any wonder that I am partly cloudy instead of party sunny or fully sunny?  So, the Sunshine Project is a relatively easy one.  I came up with a list of things that I know brighten me up and a chart for each day of the week.  The plan?  To try and do 5 things a day that put more pep in my step.  It can be as easy as drinking a cup of hot tea, doing my cardio, reading for 15 minutes outside in the sun (and that’s a double dipper), and playing with Happy and, walla, we have the target 5 for a day.  Below is the list of sunshine steps that I compiled and the very no frills chart that accompanies the journey (each sunshine step I take for the day is listed in one of the boxes).  I hope you’ll play along at home and share your journey here!  I’ll be back with an udpate later this week or early next week (and I have to go ahead and say that I am starting the week with a huge energy burst because I figured out two very complex for me technology issues this weekend and blew my own mind with what I could accomplish when I just stuck it out (and kept asking Bing what Iwas doing wrong).  I told BF, and I quote, “I couldn’t be more proud of myself if I had invented the computer myself.”  So I am riding my rush of energy into the week, because, that’s why it’s useful!

Have you read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, or her accompanying blog? She has some thoughts on this and some ideas for systems that might inspire you further.

Isha, I have read The Happiness Project! And she was, indeed, a systems machine. I haven’t read her blog yet so I’ll need to go check that out. Thanks for the reminder! What I want is just a bit more daily zest– sort of the physical manifestation of the happiness I do have because I indeed feel happy. I just feel a bit zapped and want to feel less zapped, if that makes any sense at all!
