Random Bits

SOS:  Happy has destroyed 2 cameras in the last week (let’s just say: water damage and impact wound).  Anyway, one camera (my favorite of the 2) is no longer made so no luck on getting it fixed or buying it again.  The other camera will cost 3/4 of the cost of a new one to repair.  So I am on the hunt for a new camera (and fast because I am in the midst of my photo of the kid everyday project.  Right now, I’ve resorted to not very good camera phone photos).   Do you have a digital camera that you love or hate?  What kind is it? What do you think of it?  I need suggestions pronto!

I went to the YMCA on Monday for my workout.  I was planning on an hour of cardio and an hour of Pilates.  Dropped Happy off at Childwatch and wandered down the hall towards the workout room when I realized I was wearing my clogs.  So, instead of doing cardio, I started the new book on Eliot Spitzer while I waited for Pilates to start.

Just in case anyone was wondering, I am past the age where I should be playing freeze tag and doing cartwheels.  How do I know this?  I did both on Saturday with the Circle de Luz girls and broke my glute.  Seriously.

So our Farmer’s Market is brimming with fresh strawberries.  And Happy loves strawberries so we usually buy a lot.  Last week, I made strawberry shortcake cookies with some of the extra berries and they were delish.  Idid use 8 oz of cream and 8 tbsp of butter instead of what is listed in the recipe.  Happy and I are going strawberry picking next week so I imagine there will be many more strawberry shortcake cookies in our future.

Happy is cutting his two year old molars.  It is not so happy a time around here.

I love my Nikon D40, but it depends on what kind of camera you are looking to get and how much you are wanting to spend. Give me a call if you want to discuss cameras.

I have the Canon Powershot G7, have had it for a few years, and really love it. It’s not teeny, but it’s not huge, either, and it doesn’t have a shutter lag, so I can get action shots. Plus it has a decent zoom.

All of these photos were taken with it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alexandrialeigh/sets/72157614397477594/
