2007 Jeers

I would be remiss if I didn’t also name some of the jeers from 2007.  So, here are a few things that happened in 2007 that should never happen again…

 1.  Don Imus– or anyone else– using the words “nappy headed ho” to describe any woman. 

2.  Any national sorority having the appearance that members are selected based on their looks. 

3.  Teen birth rates rise for first time in 14 years– rising 3 percent for teens between the ages of 15-17 and 4 percent for 18 and 19 year olds. 

4.  Countless incidences of bad behavior from starlets– episodes that reflect their lack of self-awareness, self-satisfaction, self-confidence, and healthiness.  Let’s hope that all that time in rehab and jail provides authentic reflection and clarification for each and every one of them and that those who don’t wind up in rehab or jail but are lacking self-love find a pathway back to themselves.
