24/7 with…Rosie Molinary, Writer, Teacher, Author of Hijas Americanas: Beauty, Body Image, and Growing Up Latina

So, there is a fabulous local mag (local to the Southeast now that it has 8 locations) called Skirt!.  Well, the Columbia, SC (where I grew up and where my cute parents and Mytito– if you haven’t read the book yet, Mytito is my brother– still live) edition featured me as their 24/7 woman on the last page of their July issue (so I am not a cover gal, I am a backpage gal which suits me quite nicely).  Here’s what I had to say in Skirt!:

The one item that has changed my life: There are two–pen and paper.

What I wanted to be when I grew up: a secret agent

My blog: https://rosiemolinary.com/blog.

The most important thing I ever lost: my rose-colored glasses.

I wish I’d known: that life keeps handing you the lesson you need to learn until you learn it. Ignoring the problem won’t make it go away. It will only amplify the volume of the lesson.

Last major purchase: New furniture for my studio. After two years of writing for a living, it’s about time I settle in for the long haul.

My favorite body part: my legs. They’ve powered me through century rides, rock climbing, road races, and helped me swim the Amazon.

My family: My husband, Michael Kessler, and a sassy Aussie mix named Lola.

My hometown: Columbia, South Carolina (but I live in Davidson, NC now).

I am most proud of: my work as a high school teacher, coach, and college administrator.

What keeps me awake at night: a “Law and Order” or “What Not to Wear” marathon.

One thing I never want to do again: mud-wrestle in a singlet in front of 2500 teenagers

Great picture, Rosie. I think you should share your mud-wrestling singlet story in full with all of your readers instead of teasing them like that.
